This exquisite bronze statue represents the Buddha in a meditative pose (Dhyana Mudra), seated upon a coiled serpent — the legendary Naga Mucalinda. According to Buddhist tradition, Mucalinda, the serpent king, emerged during a great storm to shield the meditating Buddha with his many hoods, offering divine protection and serenity.

The statue is finely crafted with a verdigris patina typical of aged bronze, and features exceptional detailing on the serpent scales and the Buddha's peaceful facial expression. The lotus-shaped base and regal seven-headed Naga canopy convey spiritual strength and harmony.
